Stephen P. Pryor, CPA – Partner

Stephen opened his practice, Stephen P. Pryor, CPA in 1990. As Partner, his primary role is the management of the firm and client relations, with expertise in taxation. Stephen received his Bachelor of Science from Marist College and his Master of Science in Taxation from Pace University. Stephen and his wife Nancy have four children and one grandson.

Ann Marie Vergara – Office Director

Ann Marie joined the Stephen P. Pryor, CPA team in September of 2002.  As Office Director, she is the first point of contact for clients. She also manages client billing and collections and oversees office administrative duties. Before she took time off to have a family, Ann Marie worked in the misses and women’s sportswear division for Associated Merchandising in New York City. She graduated from the Berkeley School of Business in White Plains where she focused on fashion design, art, sewing and general administration skills. During her free time, Ann Marie enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and their spouses, and five grandchildren.

Nicholas Vergara – Senior Manager

After working for Stephen P. Pryor, CPA on a part-time basis, Nick officially joined the firm on a full-time basis in June of 2005. As a Senior Accountant for the firm, Nick handles a multitude of compliance filings for payroll, sales tax, business income tax returns and financial statements, as well as processing individual income tax returns for clientele in the retail, construction, real estate, hospitality, and other various service-oriented businesses. After receiving his B.A. from the University of Connecticut, he attended Pace University studying additional accounting and business requirements to sit for the CPA exam. Family is first and foremost. Nick takes great pride in his wife and children. He has been coaching youth hockey and baseball since 2014. He holds his love for the sports and the kids he coaches in extremely high regard.

Shawn Wilson, CPA – Managing Director

Shawn joined Stephen P. Pryor, CPA in 2004 as a Senior ManagerHe has over 10 years of experience working with high net worth individuals and a wide variety of business clients, including those in the fields of construction, hospitality and rental real estate. Shawn provides consulting, tax and accounting services to clients and is responsible for monthly and annual tax filings. Shawn obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Iona College in the Spring of 2003, and obtained his CPA license in 2006. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters, as well as fishing, golfing and playing ice hockey.

Denise Romano, CPA – Senior Accountant

Denise first joined the firm of Stephen P. Pryor, CPA in 1992 when she was still a college student.  Denise worked for the firm until 2003 and rejoined the firm in February 2016. Denise is a CPA and assists Stephen and the firm in completing personal and corporate tax returns, financial statements, payroll, sales tax, and anything they need. Denise has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Pace University and has maintained her CPA license since inception. Denise enjoys spending time with her family and friends as much as possible. She is married to her husband, Vincent and has three children, Marissa, Cristina and Peter.

Melissa Fishback – Accounting Specialist

Melissa Fishbach joined the Stephen P. Pryor, CPA team in September 2016. She works with the bookkeeping team and focuses on client write up. Melissa has an extensive background in accounting and finance management. Melissa began her career at Arthur Andersen in the Global Corporate Finance practice and specialized in Corporate Restructuring Consulting. She then spent eight years with Avanade, where she started as a Senior Finance Analyst and worked her way to Finance Director. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with a concentration in Finance from Binghamton University. In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Allison Jubelirer – Accounting Specialist

Allison joined the Stephen P. Pryor, CPA team in March 2015 as a part-time employee. Allison is responsible for scanning data and entering client’s books and records for the senior accountants to analyze.  Prior to joining the firm, Allison worked at In Style magazine in their special events department for 11 years and coordinated all aspects of major events including logistics, budget management and execution.  She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Allison lives in Chappaqua with her husband and two children.

Justin George – Senior Accountant

Justin began his career at Stephen P. Pryor, CPA in the fall of 2015.  As a Senior Accountant, his job description includes, but is not limited to, completing corporate and not-for-profit tax returns; year-ends; monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax returns; as well as quarterly and payroll returns. Before joining the firm, he worked at Marks Paneth, a mid-sized public accounting firm in New York City. Justin graduated from Iona College with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Financial Services, along with a Certificate in International Business. He is currently pursuing his CPA License. In his free time, he is actively involved with his local church in Yonkers and in various community service events affiliated with the church. His passion is helping people, playing the drums, leading the choir and coaching basketball.

Kelly Pryor – Administrative Specialist

Kelly Pryor began working for Stephen P. Pryor, CPA in 2004 on a part-time basis to help archive documents and with general organization of the office. She joined the firm as a full-time employee in 2015, and now assists with Practice CS project management and billing. Additionally, during tax season, Kelly assists in the workflow surrounding Individual tax returns to organize the information received from the clients as well as assisting in the beginning stages of the tax return. Kelly graduated from the University of Delaware in 2014 with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. In her free time, Kelly enjoys traveling and attending an occasional spin class.

Nancy Pryor – Special Projects Coordinator

Nancy Pryor started working at Stephen P. Pryor, CPA when it opened in 1990. She took a break and is now back as Special Projects Coordinator. She handles miscellaneous tasks and projects for the company, as well as providing support for all the staff members and special assignments. Before joining Stephen Pryor CPA, Nancy worked for Pitney Bowes Credit Corp. as a liaison between outside Collection Companies and their internal Collection Department. She is a graduate of the Berkeley School of Business. Nancy is married to Stephen, and they have four children and one grandson.

Sean Pryor – Junior Accountant

Sean Pryor joined the Stephen P. Pryor, CPA workforce back in 2008 as an assistant.  He is responsible for bookkeeping and assisting with bank reconciliations, filing and other tasks. Previously, Sean worked as a caddy and administrative assistant at Rye Recreation. He graduated from Loyola University Maryland in 2016 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. When not working, Sean enjoys playing ice hockey, golfing, hiking, camping, traveling and photography.

Jeanne Mortarotti – Accounting Specialist

Jeanne Mortarotti joined the Stephen P. Pryor, CPA team in May 2015.  As Accounting Specialist, she works with the bookkeeping team and is responsible for the daily write up processing, analyzing information and client satisfaction. Jeanne previously spent 12 years as a Construction Project Manager for Ray’s Electric. She helped the company grow and managed the everyday bookkeeping. Jeanne has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Arizona State University. She lives in Stamford, CT and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
